The Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk is only a few months away and I’m kicking both my training and fundraising into high gear. With the help of my sister-in-law and members of the community we are hosting a barbeque fundraiser on October 5 at a local bar, Take Five Cocktails. Pre-sale tickets are $10 and each guest receives a meal ticket and Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Bracelet. More event details are being released on Facebook, click here to join the event!
Local businesses are also pitching in by donating fabulous prizes for the raffle. So far we have three confirmed prizes and more are on the way. Once we have more prizes secured we will announce raffle ticket pricing.
I am so overjoyed by the amount of people willing to help make this event successful. So many people have offered to help sell presale tickets and businesses seem more than happy to either sponsor or donate raffle items. I just know I’ll reach my $2300 goal, in fact I’m already 52% of the way there! I know this money will go to help so many women — this will help save lives. A wonderful statistic I came across: 99% of women in early stage breast cancer will SURVIVE. Because of the research Susan G. Komen has funded doctors and patients have the tools needed to FIGHT!
The walk is this November and I am taking long walks around my town as well as logging time on the treadmill. I think I already need to replace the shoes I just bought a couple months ago!
If you are in the Ventura County area and would like to purchase a presale ticket, leave a comment, send me a message or join the event here. If you are not in the area but still want to help me reach my fundraising goal, click here.
